About Aly

Alyxandra (Aly) Gideon was raised in Oklahoma surrounded by a passionate family that placed heavy value on helping others and excelled in their careers as teachers, nurses, pastors, and public attorneys. Aly is inspired to follow in the footsteps of her late grandmother Penny, who owned her own grant consulting firm. She has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector with emphases on homelessness, education, and victim services.

Aly earned her Bachelor of Arts in Peace/Conflict Studies and Political Science from Chapman University in 2013. After serving two years with the AmeriCorps program City Year where she was bitten by the grant writing and fundraising bug, Aly began her Masters of Social Work program at the University of Kansas, graduating with an administrative focus in 2018. Aly has written proposals totaling over $4,000,000 and has extensive experience in grant writing, grant reporting and compliance, project management, and program evaluation. Her experience at Hope House domestic violence shelter in Kansas City helped inspire her to become a fierce advocate for survivors.

After working as the Senior Grants Manager for Pathways to Housing in Washington, DC, Aly relocated to Colorado in 2021. After working as the Program Evaluation and Grant Writing Manager at Harrison School District 2 in Colorado Springs, she transitioned to Grants Monitor for Colorado’s Department of Public Safety in the Department of Criminal Justice’s Office for Victims Programs.

Aly lives in Denver with her fur-child Luna and enjoys playing board and card games, spending time with family and friends, karaoke, trivia, and crafting.
